Partner Search Queries
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Sibley County Released Inmates does not store or log those query terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its receipt and handling of the search.
Messages Sent to Us
If a visitor sends an email or contact-form message, we retain the supplied address and message long enough to review and answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Visit Information
Routine server, analytics, and advertising technologies may record technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and version in use.
- The device category and operating system.
- The pages opened and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when that information is available.
- The date and time of the request.

We use customary administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a public reference site. No internet transmission, connected service, or storage system is completely secure. Sibley County Released Inmates cannot promise that a breach, interception, loss, or misuse will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, a visitor may ask us to take these steps for personal information held directly by this private site:
- Provide a copy of the personal data we maintain.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete information when a valid erasure right applies.
- Stop certain forms of processing where an opt-out right applies.
These requests do not control records maintained by Sibley County or another government office. Public access and data-subject rights for county government records arise under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, including Minnesota Statutes chapter 13, and must be directed to the agency that holds the record.
